19-Story Israel Henry Berem Campus Yeshiva University Facade Restoration
Building Overview
This 19-story institutional building located in Midtown Manhattan, operated by Yeshiva University. The building is supporting academic, and administrative university functions. The structure occupies an urban mid-block site and is fully elevator-served, consistent with high-rise institutional facilities in Manhattan. The building is of reinforced concrete and steel construction, with concrete floor slabs and a structural frame designed to accommodate institutional occupancies. The exterior envelope consists primarily of masonry façade systems with architectural stone and/or brick cladding, along with punched window openings typical of mid-to-late-20th-century institutional high-rise construction.
Project Scope
EOC acted as Engineer of Record for a full exterior façade restoration project, delivering integrated engineering services from preliminary condition evaluation through final project completion. The scope included the development of comprehensive construction drawings and technical specifications, support during the contractor procurement process, and ongoing construction administration to ensure the work was executed in accordance with approved documents and industry standards. As part of the engagement, EOC also performed the required NYC Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP) inspections and filed the associated report with the Department of Buildings. Through a performance-driven engineering approach, EOC implemented efficient repair strategies and sequencing methodologies that enhanced constructability, maintained regulatory compliance, and supported long-term durability and public safety of the building envelope.
